cube tank, overflow and closed loop help

Ok new question. I am planning on a closed loop system, the inlets being on the middle of the back wall, and four outputs, 2 on each side, one toward the middle of the tank, one toward the bottom. So where would you suggest I plumb the return line in at? I would prefer not to have any plumbing...

cube tank, overflow and closed loop help

that is exactly what I needed to see. But who made your tank, I am assuming it was customer built, because I have never seen an overflow on the outside on the tank prebuilt.

cube tank, overflow and closed loop help

I am going to order a cube tank, either 24x24", or 30x30". anyway, I was thinking about a coast to coast overflow, but I don't really want the overflow in the tank taking up extra space. and the closed loop, not sure what a good design would be, ie:inlet, outputs, etc. any ideas?

    Custom aquarium design help

That is some crazy plumbing for sure fly guy! But the 8 different zones, it has to have some serious caotic water flow. Is that a flexible PVC you used? Haven't seen it before.

    Custom aquarium design help

I was planning on using a hayward 3 way valve, splitting my flow from right side, to left side and so on. I have been thinking about a coast to coast, but using just that without an overflow box worries me a little, especially with it being outside the tank. With an overflow inside the tank you...

    Custom aquarium design help

What does OM mean? I wanted to remove the overflow from the tank. Always seems to get in the way when it is in the tank. Are you saying a coast to coast outside the tank, with an overflow in the center, all outside the tank?

    Custom aquarium design help

Never have been fond of a central overflow. I am trying to create a small view of the ocean. So a overflow in the center to me would be a little unsightly.

    Custom aquarium design help

I am wanting to have a custom acrylic tank built for me. I want it to be 36l x36w x 24h. I got a quote for $1200 dollars. That includes one center overflow mounted on the outside, and the top being left open, no center brace. This quote seems a bit high to me, since I bought a 48l x 24w x 24h...

    Custom aquarium help

When the guy at the LFS suggested the no brace design he said it would be a little more expensive due to the need to reinforce everything that the brace would have taken care of. Since I am planning on putting a 400w over the center of the tank, that is why I considered the bracless top. But...

    which calc reactor

Geo has been recommended to me by another person too. The schuran I have been told is awesome, but hard to find parts, and if you do, they are expensive. The only reason I was considering a precision marine model is that my lfs uses this on their new 300 gal display tank. The coral growth is...

    need a calcium reactor

    need a calcium reactor

I am wanting to finally install a calcium reactor to my 125 gal tank. Any recommendations or reviews? I have been led toward a precision cr422 or korallin 1502 models.

    drilling a new closed loop???

Starting the pilot isn't the problem, it is when it pushes through the other side of the acylic. The bit just bites and pulls the hole saw toward the acylic. The force of the pilot biting I think is what caused the cracking. But how to get it to stop biting once it makes it through the other...

    drilling a new closed loop???

The bit will still cut through? Just a little slower process I guess. I am not too bothered by my setup. I think the lateral flow is good for this type of tank. But you know, always wanted it to be a little neater looking.

    which calc reactor

I have a 125 gal reef tank and am now willing to invest in a good calc reactor. Any reviews, opinions?

    drilling a new closed loop???

Well I am thinking of eliminating the side outputs all together, just leaving the inputs, mainly cause I don't want to have to drill 2 more holes for the 1.5" inputs. I am thinking of two outputs on either end of the tank on the back wall for 4 total. One either side, one near the top of the...

    drilling a new closed loop???

I am ok with drilling holes, just want to know if I should drill new holes so my outputs are coming out the back rather than the side. One question I do have about drilling. When I drilled my holes, I used a hole saw bit witha pilot of course. The problem though, once the pilot bit breaks...
