Any Updates on the Shipment of SPS

There was some mention of bringing in a shipment of sps, towards the end of January, in the posting you guys had made about the clam shipment. Any updates on this?

    Blue Sierra Shops

The Fish Gallery and Pets store in Bellevue, I would never visit again. The overwhelming stench of animal urine wasn't from neglecting to clean for just a day or two. On the other hand, Blue Sierra store in Issaquah is an excellent lfs.

I could use some advice about a clam.

One is a 3-3.5" Brown Teardrop Maxima, and the other is a 3.5-4" Electric Crocea (Blue and Purple with some gold details). The Crocea is the one holding onto the small piece of rock. I haven't seen anything that indicates that clams stop filtering after a certain size, but I know I've read...

    almost ready to start...i think?

For snails, I think most fish will not bother them. Maybe someone has a story of a type of fish that isn't ok with them. With crabs and shrimp, I'd stay away from triggerfish. One other advantage of a sump is that when the water level fluctuates due to evaporation, it will drop in the sump...

I could use some advice about a clam.

Good to hear! :D I was worried that the clam would pull the small rock into its shell and damage its internal organs, or something terrible like that. I haven't kept a clam before and I'm really surprised at how active these guys are. The one that I thought was settled down on the rock work...

I could use some advice about a clam.

Hey everybody, I recently purchased two clams this last week, and they are starting to settle into my tank. One seems to have attached itself to the rockwork that I had him on, and is seems to be doing well. The other still hadn't attached, but seems to extend it's mantle and is responsive to...

    DIY Aquarium Controller not $6-800

I read through it, and my two cents worth are that it is very much in the prototype phase. So it seems like there would be a lot of observation and adjustment to get everything satisfactory. One thing that really stood out was using the hot glue to waterproof the temperature sensor. To me...

    almost ready to start...i think?

Is your tank drilled for an overflow? Just my opinion but the prisim is too small, especially when you are (re)curing your rock or if you have a good bioload in your tank. Are you planning to keep hard corals? If you are what about getting a calcium reactor? Just my personal preference but I...

MH vs. VHO lighting for newbie w/reef!

He mentions that the tank is 36" long, so the VHO tubes would be 95w each. Also, the length of the tube itself is 36" so with the end caps on top of that you might need to route out a little space inside the hood to get them to fit. If you got 4 bulbs you could power it with an Ice Cap 660...

    heater question

I use Ebo Jager also. They seem to maintain the temperature very precisely. They claim within .5 degrees and I believe that. I was using VisiTherm before that and had a couple of them run away on me. Luckily I was able to notice and pull them out before they overheated the tank too much.

    LFS and ORA

Hey, sorry to jump in here, but I thought Blue Sierra out in Issaquah carries ORA raised fish as a standard item. It might be worth giving them a call to confirm if they have what you want. Also, I know for certain they offer PSAS members a discount when you show your membership card. As far...
