Oceanic 125g RR tank
150lbs of LR from established system
30g long sump/fuge
Little Giant return pump
Aquanetics 15w UV
Koralia 4 Mods x 2 (~3000gph each)

Stock List (fish in QT):
Six Barred Angelfish (6")
Blue Face Angelfish (4.5")
Imperator Angelfish (4.5" Changing Juvi)
Blue Angelfish (4.5")
Multicolor Angelfish (2.5")
Green Chromis x 6

PS - I understand that angelfish grow aggressive and territorial as they age. I also understand that adding a second angelfish to the tank is a bad idea when one has established territorial boundries. Therefore, adding multiple angels at the same time (at least 2) has proven successful if kept fat and happy. Tank fed 3 times daily (pellets, nori, frozen carnivore prep, Formula 2, misc greens, etc.)

As you can see in the above picture, I drilled the sump to house an additional pump to power a skimmer, however I chose not to install one at this time. I used to run an ETSS 600 XR, but there is no need for such a powerful skimmer on a FOWLR system.

Therefore, a skimmer will be added, but not right now.

Black Friday!
Multicolor Angel & Emporer added!

Fed the tank twice after adding both fish. First feeding was a mixture of Spirulina/Brine forzen prep along with some New Life Spectrum Thera-A (anti-parasitic) pellets and a little Garlic Guard. The second feeding was a small square of carnivorous prep.

The fish have been eating well for weeks, but this is a good sign that hours after making the transition into the display, both fish are eating very well on each feeding. :cheesy:

Before lights out, both were swimming very freely anjoying their new digs! We'll see how things shape up in another week or so before I add 2 more angels - however, I do want to do so before the Imperator establishes himself.

IMHO, you have too small a tank for all these angelfishes and you are going to have problems when the emperor gets bigger. I wish you well in your efforts though.

I too am going for a angelfish tank, but my tank size is 375 gallons with the length almost 8 ft long. I currently have a blueface and majestic angel. Plan on adding 2 more angelfishes with the emperor added last. So far so good. If you want to talk more, send me a PM.

I have a 375 gallon reef with 5 full size and 4 dwarf angels. They all get along, but you do have to know what you are doing when adding any new angel, due to aggression.

Nice selection of Angels!!! Blueface is my favorite. If my 270g isn't full of corals I that I don't want to get mowed down I would put like 100 angels in it.

Thanks for the well wishes!

Of course I understand that the angels will grow and will eventually have to find another home. :) until then, we'll enjoy each other.

Roscoe - I think the Blue Angel is my favorite, but I definitely think that the 6 Barred is a very overrated fish!

I do like my blueface. he finally has figured out who feeds the tank..when i enter the room, he swims to the front of the tank for a several seconds, and does eat in my prescence but not for long..eventually one of my kids will make a sudden movement that causes the BF to dart to a hiding place.

when i get the emperor angel in a few months, I hope it swims out in the open more, they are such beautiful fishes.

Here are a couple of pics of my blue face and majestic angel:
