12DX - First saltwater tank

For Christmas I received CA, ALK, PO4 Salifert tests! So I figured I would test them out today...here is my findings.

Calcium - 440
Alk - 9.3
PO4 - 0

The one thing I found weird is the alk test kit came with a check solution, which was suppose to be 7.3dkh yet when I tested it my kit read 9. I retested with the same results, but now I am out of the check solution...but I retested my tanks water with my API kit which matched my salifert test, so I am guessing the check solution is off.

The check solution shouldn't be off. I would have thought you would have gotten more than "one" time to check your test kit, lol.

I actually tested it twice with the same results. The CEO of Salifert messaged me on RC and is sending me a new kit just in case, I must say that is fantastic customer service.
