I did an over the top loop long ago, once I got it tweaked it worked well, I was able to conceal the down pipe. Sand though, you need sand LOL

I have an acrylic 55g tank in my garage that was a Coldwater that will probably be cut down and used as a frag tank. It'll stay in the garage.

No actually I didn't think of colored pvc. Where's spinner man when we need him?!
Has it always come colored or is this a recent thing?

Maybe beneficial to use black pvc to keep watever light out. I like to light my display tank and run a dark sump kinda like the deep dark ocean where the marine snow falls and detritus falls.

I only need sand if I have critters that need it

Seedless the material was in the $300-$400 range Im thinkin i remembers.

Stopped by the local auto parts store and got my paint!
They had $10 cans and $12 ones. So I got all the $12 ones. Only difference was textured or smooth. I went textured.

Scuff up the stand with some heavy duty grit. Wipe it down with acetone...

Took a bristle brush on the end of my drill and tried to clean up the welds a Lil more as well.

I have my one pump for the closed loop thxs. I prefer submersable pumps but its hard to get a larger GPH out of em.

Uhgggg . Why can't sw fish tanks go smoothly? Lol
Came home from work and my stand has some wet spots.or globs where it didn't dry or stick or maybe the temp was a Lil low at 6-7pm last night.
Errrr. Some sanding and re paint before final coat.

A Fluval SP4 can be internal or external, and pumps 1822 gph. Suppose to be extremely quiet.

Making small baby steps. Still one coat more of paint on the stand.
I took all the rock out of one display and replaced with fake already purple rock I got from obd. Looks MO better.
