Are you teasing every one out here that loves smoked salmon. There are so few bags pictured there with names on them. lol

And what is the secret ingredient you presumably forgot to list in you home brew recipe????

Karen, Snickers and I give the seal of approval. (Snickers like the skin)

Well guys, looks like it will be this Saturday for the Coastal Fishing trip. The Sol Duc or Queets/Salmon Rivers seem to be on track for some outstanding fishing. The Humptulips is loaded with Kings and some Coho but is always a madhouse on weekends and prefer not to do any Combat Fishing. My first choice would be the Sol Duc and if so will head over Friday eve to our cabin at Pt No Pt (Hansville) and take off from there Saturday morning as is only 2+ hours to the river. Shoot me a pm or call if interested.

just one more teaser from the Sol Duc

I have gone through the channels and have proper authorization to go on this trip. :D

NICE ! Now thats some extreme salmon fishing, hiking through glaciers to get to your Honey-Hole. Would love to get back up to Alaska again for another fishing trip. We have an open seat if interested in trying your hand at some Sol Duc Silver this weekend.

Cheers, Todd

haha i forgot to add my caption thats a pic of my brother, my brother was working on the mendenhall over the summer guiding (the reason i was up in AK), doesn't have anything to do with fishing but i figured id throw it up there for the hell of it anyway. spent a lot of time throwing a line in the water while he was working. Beautiful place.

Thanks for the offer fishing! have pre obligations but sounds like a good time, u guys floating it?

Naw, were going to do some hiking to get into the fishing this weekend. If all else fails, we'll be a bit healthier after this fishing trip.

Well, not the spectacular day I was hoping for and only Duane (trido) joined in on the hiking/fishing trip. But, with a bit of patience we did find a little Sol Duc River Silver action.

Duane with his first two Sol Duc River Coho's 9lb & 5lb

My two Coho 16lb & 12lb and a bonus lil' Chinook Jack

Ya know the saying "Just one last cast" well sometimes it pays off with a beautiful 12lb Coho hen

Still early in the run so heading back for more sometime real soon.

Thanks Guys, we did have alot of fun and couldn't ask for better weather for mid October plus being West of Forks and only about 6-7 miles from the Pacific Ocean we were truely out in the beautiful Pacific Northwest Wilderness. Mikey I'll bring a nice fillet over for you and Karen on next visit and more if we make another trip to the river as may not have enough room in freezer.

Cheers, Todd

Todd a filet would be awesome! We are still rationing out the smoked...

How come you caught so many more pounds than Duane?:fish2::second::caked:

Well, for me:  30+ years of fishing the Olympic Peninsula rivers especially the Sol Duc. For Duane: :fish: only second time fishing any of the coastal rivers and first time on the Sol Duc. Plus it takes some time to get just the right :twitch: action with a jig to catch the big ones

Looks like Duane will get another shot at it tomorrow as we are heading back over again, while the Salmon are in and the river is in fishable condition.

Cheers, Todd
