:faint:So I'm wondering if building a 3x3 cube tank with acrylic is something I should attempt. In the videos it looks easy enough. Lol famous last words.

What type of tools do you have on hand to prep the acrylic for the seam welds? What brand of acrylic do you have?

Well I was looking at eBay and I'm not sure the brand. I'm sure it makes a differance but I don't know which brands are good either. And I don't have any tools other than a few slide vices. I know I'll need to build a table to do this.

You will need a router, a straight edge, some clamps. a pattern making bit for the router. min. 3/4'' diam. A large flat table. sum weight.some 28ga. wire. 30 -40 small wedges. Use only Plexi-G acrylic (cell cast) If you use 1'' the cost will be over$700 just for the 1'' acrylic.

Thanks peppie. I'm gonna go 3/4" it's insulates well and is much cheaper than 1". I'm gonna work on filling out that tool list. I also plan on making a small tank for practice.well that's the idea at least.

3/4 is plenty . use weldon 3 for the solvent to weld. Dont forget to sharpen your pencil. Good luck. Good idea to practice on something much smaller.

Make sure and post pics of the build! 3/4 in acrylic is more than sufficient for that sized tank. Peppie will steer you in the right direction :)

There will definitely be a build thread once it starts. I need to sell a tank or four before I do. But it's in the works.
