Kevin what meter have you used in measuring the PPF levels?

An Apogee MQ-200 Quantum meter. It has a submersible sensor and good repeatability. My unit is a few years old. The newer ones are nicer as they can record and store data.

Kevin

Hey Kevin, Thanks and where do you think I could find one at ? Camera shop ? Yeah another tool... don't tell my wife...haha

THanks again Kevin,

I am very curiuos to how my lights will read as well as being able to check out others, especially the newer LED systems.

Maybe for a future (Sticky)thread we could have a detailed "Light configuration rating" one that will clearly show what you get from each.

I have always wondered about LEDs with coral. Now I know that some coral respond to them but do we actually know like the spectrum that coral respond to when we are attempting to simulate moonlight?

Great Question!

I've been following 'DolphinLvr's 180 Build' thread and there waiting for a response from the manufacturer on the LED system he chose. You should follow along also, it could be enlightening harhar.

Ive seen those bubble wands in some of the local stores and I had always wondered if those are somewhat accurate and I already know that naturally coral respond to them but I wasn't sure if the spectrum was what it is in nature.
