G gimmito Well-known member Joined Feb 11, 2008 Messages 727 Location san francisco bay area Jan 15, 2012 #2 The main reason hobbyist don't use abs in their setups is because it's not pressure rated. Since you're using it for drains it shouldn't be a problem. Is it noisy though ?

Not so loud. My tank doesn't know that ABS isn't reef safe, so it's been running fine with the stuff for years. My overflow system is built out of ABS. If you were to check out the bulkheads that many of us use - a lot of them are ABS.
