Acan vs. Acan Echinata

I was just curious about the difference between the two as far as their care goes. I have an AE that has been struggling and I am not sure if it is getting too much or too little light. From my understanding, they require high light exposure and regular acans reguire lower light like T-5 or even PC style. Should I have the regular acan about 34" from my MH and the MH is about 12-14" over the water line. The AE is about 6" closer to the light. Should it be closer or further away???

I'm not sure but my AE is doing fine on the bottom of my tank being blasted with 400w halides. Although it looks nothing like the picture it was purchased off of LOL.

I've got my 1 AE right next to where my clams are (and happiest) - and its as happy as can be, perfect color, etc. - Basically straight down from the middle of my MH

Regular acans just a little bit off center from my bulbs - say at a 25% angle from the center of my bulb - all also happy and color good...
