Can I take my acro out of the water to trasnfer him into a at container? I need to pull all my rock out of my tank and scrub them due to some serious algee problems I am having and the only problem I have is that my acro is glued to one of my rocks pretty close to the top of the water due to lighting. If I move it out of the water and it is not covered in water will it hurt the acro. Any help with this issue would be great and no I don't know what kind if algee it is, my wife tells me it is red and it keeps carperting my zoos and killing them off so it has to go.

Your acro will be fine but not for a long time. Mine are out of the water when I do water changes but only for 10 minutes at the most.
If you are putting it into another container of water you are fine.

Algea is a PAIN
is it a slimey red? kinda gets air under it?
Or is it a hard or tough algea?

yes, they can be out of water but I wouldn't leave them out of water for any longer than twilliard said. They are out of longer than that at low tide in the oceans but this is our little box of water.

I disagree acro's in the wild are out of the water for hrs and hrs at a time when its low tide.
For example whe I frag my sps I take them out and take my time (up to an hr) while I cut and glue.
So any ways no worries just to move to another container...

I haven't seen the aglee due to that wondeful pic I have set next to my name has had me away from home for the past 60 days :( from what my wife tells me it is slimey red and it sufficates my zoos, any idea on what it is and how to kill it, my wife just changed the bulbs, has done lots of water chages and just keeps scraping it off but she told me it is spreading fast now. I am wondering if the bio wheel is causing it. I have a 10 gal nano.

Red cyano is what is sounds like.

Here are about 5 options that should help
1) increase flow
2) decrease nutrients
3) turkey baste it
4) take out the rock and scrub it like you mentioned (more drastic but shouldn't be too hard in a 10g)
5) some others may disagree with me on this last one, but I've had really good success with a product called Red Slime Remover so lastly if all else fails, that's worth a try too.

Class clown thank you I will try what you said I was thinking on putting a power head in the tank, but I think that I am just going to end up pulling all the rock and scrubbing it in the end to make everything look better and I have been wanting to reaquascape for awaile now. once again thanks for the help
