i plan on setting up an aggressive 125 gallon fish only tank with live rock....i plan on keeping an eel, a porcupine puffer, a clown triggerfish, a humu humu trigger, a lionfish, and maybe a large angelfish....just wondering if all of these fish can live together ok. i have been reading about it and it seems that it is possible but i was just wonderign what your opinion was. Also, which of these i shuold ad first, then next, and so on. oh yeah, and i plan on getting small or juevinile ones of all the different species and watch them grow up

I've read that triggers can methodically nip at the lionfish, sometimes until all the spines are gone. Some folks don't have any problems, and others do even though it may not have been a problem at first. It is something you need to consider, though.

Also, you may want to rethink having two species of triggers together in a 125: Trigger Compatability FAQs. It seems the clown trigger would be the more aggressive of the two trigger choices, and based on the tank size, I would choose not to have the clown trigger.

<Triggers have varying personalities, one trigger can be docile the next can be the Boston strangler…..its always a gamble, always a risk mixing triggers and anything else really…nest kept a single specimens.>
<<When speaking of the Humu, take Adam's admonitions seriously - I once cared for a juvenile Humu who literally stalked me around the tub (3K gallon holding tub) - I had to take very real care that he didn't sample me. MH>>

As far as the eel goes, I found some disagreements between keeping them with triggers, too: Trigger Compatability FAQ part 2

Would my Niger and Humu Humu triggers be OK tankmates with the eel?
<<The Rhinecanthus is likely a danger to the eel while the Odonus, though somewhat less a threat, may still take a nip if afforded the opportunity (While diving off the Kona coast last fall I saw a large Pink-Tail trigger chasing and nipping at a three-foot moray as it frantically searched the sea floor for a place to escape/hide)>>

While every triggerfish has its own personality, there is no guarantee that a less aggressive personality will remain that way.

I'm not sure what order to place them in the tank. I'd put the trigger in last, but if you go with two, I'm not sure if it is better to put them in at the same time, or the clown trigger last.

A Clown Trigger will grow too large for a 125, and most likely grow up and kill his tankmates:eek: Not a nice fish!
As stated above, Triggers and Lions are NOT good tankmates. Choose one ..
IMO, A large Angelfish needs a bigger tank as well..
You have some VERY large fish on your list and although a 125 is a good sized tank, you would need to at least double the tank size in order to keep these fish long term

I agree with bttrflygrl. A 125 is a decent size tank but the lion or the porcupine need this much volume on there own. Good luck, I love aggressive tanks.
