aiptasia removal

I watched a local store shock them to remove them. they had built a rod that had a small charge they could use to touch them .. They shriveled right up.

Thats awesome! at that point I would have called it an accomplishment and let them be. "look at me cool anemone tank":jaw:

Lol. That jaw drop is accurate. That is what would happen to people when I would explain to them that the anemones covering every surface were actually bad and a major pest.

I have one of those zappers as well, but they don't quite do the job. I literally spent dozens of hours zapping thousands of them, but I could never beat them. They would always come back with force. The problem with the zapper is that it cant reach all places, and unless you can remove every part of the anemones flesh, then it will just regenerate. Even if you zap it in to oblivion, a week later it will be back good as new.

Super glue is the most effective tool I have found. Encase those little bastards like Han Solo.

Apparently I got jinxed by replying on this thread. seen a little bugger tonight in the substrate but way hard to reach. gonna suck him out with a hose.

I agree with the Berghias for the aiptasia if you ever have a problem - I just put in 3 a couple of weeks ago, and I'm several aiptasias down already!

Here's one munching -

Here's another - you really can't see the aiptasia cuz he's been om-nomming it for a while

And they go right into the hole and keep munching until it's gone-gone-gone...
