Alien eye chalice

I was wondering if an alien eye chalice is an encrusting coral or not. Should i just put it down on the sand?

chalice is an encrusting lps...others put it in the sandbed like i do...and some in the rockwork...make sure to give it enough space to grow and away from other corals as they are aggressive,they can put out long sweepers....u can put it in a flat surface to give it a nice shape when it grows.please share us some pics!

I had a yellow table acro that died. I never took the skeleton out. I put it right in the middle of the table. Thats why i was asking if its encrusting. Was hoping it was encrusting. That way i would have a table chalice! Ha!

My hollywood stunner chalice grew like a monti cap.

When I said like a monti, it grew outward and flat with a slight curve upward.
