There are alot of younger folks here, so figured this is a good place to ask. Anyone have one of the new 4g android phones? What do you think? Are they really faster? I use my crackberry mainly for business are the androids pretty durable? I'm looking at the new Samsung or the EVO but leaning toward the Samsung for the keyboard. I have ipod touch and am not very fond of the touch screen keyboard.

Thanks
Don

I got my wife a samsung captivate with android software. The phone is faster than My Iphone as solid built. No keyboard though. The battery last a long time & you don't need special software to use the memory on board, integrates with Microsoft exchange at work easily, goggle gmail & yahoo. When I sell my iphone I will never get another apple, well at least for some time. JMO though!

I made the switch to the captivate after using the iphone for a number of years. Best phone i ever owned. Fast, awesome screen, and great battery life. Also Android market has a lot of the apps you will find in the app store. If only Reef Frontiers was on Tapatalk.

Thanks folks. I ordered the new Samsung with keyboard for myself and the EVO for my wife. I guess we have 30 days to decide if either of us wants to swap phones.

Don you are too much of a diy junkie who's always got their hands dirty for a touch screen phone! :p You should see me using my iPhone with my OCD! I have to wash my hands before using it and shake out my pockets every morning to make sure there is no lint in there

 I just use the insurance to replace phones when they get trashed. Dropped a blackberry in a oil drain pan last week. Crushed one falling down a hill when hunting. Usually a dozen or so a year.

We got our new phones. The htc evo is just what we expected. The samsung epic 4g thats another story. It was defective, took it in for replacement. Cool that lasted about an hour the the home button died. Took it back again and the back button didnt work, but never left store so got another. Went next door for dinner pushed it open to access the key board and the face fell right off. Spoke to the manager. he says about 95% of them are defective, not a good sign. My new evo is on its way and they can keep the samsung.

Forgot to mention there is NO sync app for the samsung. Great for kids with gmail but not worth a darn for those that use outlook.

Dam, sounds like that was a crappy phone from samsung. I had issues with them before but the Galaxy captivate so far the wife has no issues. I would stick to the BB's if they worked well this long and have the best keyboards. Every phone company has phones built to their spec, I guess that could make a difference.

I found it comical. Cell phones and I dont get along real well anyways, thats what I get for buying new toys. :)
