Hi,
Friday i added a Anularis Angel to my tank and needless to say my tank mates didn't like him. By Saturday morning his tail and backside fins were all nipped up and my fish had pushed him up into a corner of my tank. I netted him right away and threw into my 20 gal QT. He then proceeded to not eat anything for the next day and a half. I tried everything i had to get him to eat. I used fresh squid, brine shrimp, Dried krill, Red Reef and spectrum pellets. Plus i soaked everything in selcon and garlic for a few minutes too. Since he wasn't touching any of the food i add some selcon directly to the tank thinking that would get into his system wether he ate it or not...right? I was out of ideas and then i remembered that he was nipping at the rocks in my tank. I believe it was the sponges he was after. So i grabbed a few small pieces that had sponges on them and i threw them in the tank. He started nipping at them after a few minutes. So hopefully i can get him to start eating agiain. Also i would just like to add that this fish was use to eating the foods i mentioned earlier.
What should i do though about reintroducing him to my tank? The fish that were harassing him the most were my Pinktail trigger, Niger trigger, and my Blue tang. What should i do for the next time? My LFS suggested building an egcrate cage for the fish and putting it in the tank with the angel in it for a few weeks so that the other fish get use to it but can't get to it and after attacking the cage enough they will get use to the fish and ignore it. Or he said to add more than one fish to the tank to relieve the pressure. The fish is beautiful and set me back quite a little bit so i don't want to lose it. Also any ideas on what to do for getting this guy to eat again?
Thanks
