Long-story-short, I was spying on my peppermint shrimp (NOT eating the aptasia) with a flashlight last night--and I inadvertently spotted my bi-color and his face was all spotted!
Or maybe "splotchy" is a better word for it--he was sticking out of his hole--but it looked like someone had taken a tiny eraser and rubbed the color off of parts of his face!
(Actually he looked like he was wearing clown make-up!--white patches around his mouth, around his eyes, by his antennae, etc....)
IT TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT!!!!
I even turned the MH bulbs back on--just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
I know I've read that blennies sometimes fade colors based on stress,
and can change patterns for mating, etc....but this was a pretty drastic change, anyone else experienced this?!?
(BTW: When the lights came on this morning he was completely normal looking!)
