Ive been trying to get in for a few days now. Thanks for the heads up.

Apex Fusion Setup Guide

Congratulations, you have been selected as part of a group of people to help us with the next phase of beta testing the Apex Fusion service. Please read the following VERY carefully.
•THIS IS AN OPEN BETA – IF THIS MAKES YOU AT ALL UNCOMFORTABLE, STOP NOW!

um.....help me feel comfortable?

what do I do first?

Read the instructions closely because there are things you have to do on your dashboard and in Configuration>Network prior to doing the upgrade that will make it work the first time without issues. Also back up your apex to your desktop prior to installing the new update. But all this is in the instructions.
PM me of you have and problems that's why we're out here.

I got it taken care of. Its not much more difficult than updating the firmware.

alright, alright, you got me started. first step is my current firmware is 410_6D11. Do you guys know if there may be any hassles when I update directly to the newest, before I download fusion? figure I'll wait till mornig just incase. May be pulling out a "favor" card if either of you have the time and I run into any user errors.

this is what I'm looking at.

Apex Firmware Ver. 4.31 download and installation instructions

Apex Fusion is not yet available but will REQUIRE this firmware when it is released

This firmware release includes the following enhancements and revisions:
•Many bug fixes
•Apex Fusion - Apex Fusion is NOT accessible yet to the general public. We are currently in a closed beta test for Apex Fusion and it will soon be released to all of our users. This firmware (or later) will be required though to use Apex Fusion when it is released.
•AFS (Automatic Feeding System) Support
•AWM (AI Wireless Module) Support
•EcoTech Radion Lighting Support (SETUP INSTRUCTIONS FOR AFTER YOU UPDATE FIRMWARE)
•Sliders now available on the dashboard for your 0-10V applications for “on the fly” control
•New probe and switch naming
•Faster Internal Webserver
•New Help Menu
•FULL DETAILS ON WHAT’S IN THIS RELEASE FOUND HERE

Instructions – Please read this ENTIRE PAGE before starting the installation

This firmware revision supports our new AFS and AWM modules, control of your Radion lighting, and most importantly, will eventually allow for the connection to our new cloud-based service Apex Fusion

To update the firmware follow the following procedure:
1.Backup your current controller’s configuration just in case something goes wrong 1.Configuration> Load/Save
2.Save Configuration

2.You MUST directly connect your APEX, with a network cable, TO YOUR HOME ROUTER 1. DO NOT USE Wireless
2.If connecting to Apex to your home router is not possible, see page 107 of the ACRM

3. Disable your wireless on your computer (usually a switch on your computer or a setting in your menu bar)
4. Disable ALL virus/firewall software on your computer 1.PC: If you do not know how to do this, then restart your computer in “Safe Mode w/networking”

5.Download and Open the Apex flash utility (see the links below for Mac and PC) then 1. For PC: 1.Search for a controller using the magnify glass next to the network address line, or
2.Type the controller IP address in the network address line, and fill in the other appropriate information- not “apex”

2.For Mac: 1.Search for a controller using the “WiFi” icon in the bottom left-hand corner, or
2.Select the “plus” sign to add a controller manually

6.Click Update Firmware 1.For PC: If it does not load the firmware after failed attempt 2, then power cycle your Apex by removing the Aquabus cable from the EB8 to the base unit.
2.For Mac: If it does not connect retrying two times, then power cycle your Apex by removing the Aquabus cable from the EB8 to the base unit.

7.After the firmware update completes successfully, then select Update Web Pages.
8.IMPORTANT – now you MUST clear the cache history in your browser (see below for your specific browser)

NOTE: You should now go and save your configuration again as you did in step 1. HOWEVER, if you were running v4.20 or earlier prior to upgrading, your previously saved configuration from step #1 is NOT compatible with 4.3 firmware – DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOAD IT ONCE YOU HAVE UPDATED TO 4.3

I've found more people have less issue updating up to 1E before going to the 2E. Just less chances for issues.
But others have jumped without issue but better to be safe than sorry and backup after each update.

Yes that's the read first sheet but the updates at the end are those who were beta testing prior to this public test, so they wouldn't update their system because they already have a updated mod to their Apex.

ok. lost me!

my firmware version is june of 2011. (6D11) when you say go to "1E before 2E" what does that mean?

Thanks!

What's the full version not the last4. Mine is 4.31_3B14 and different on my beta from before. You must be running a older version on your Apex so doing some updates prior to doing Fusion would be advisable. Heave you been doing ANY updates to your apex in the last almost 4yrs?
And what is your FULL Version numbers?

Daryll, I added you to my fusion account so you can view my status. As far as I can see its kind of like reetronics with only that authorization. I really like that I can authorize you to control or even program it in case I'm deep in the woods and something goes wrong.

I need to get my Apex unit fast then...being in the tech industry I would love to have this cloud option.

Yes several of us have this going plus it's a excellent support tool if someone is having issue programming their lights or pumps ect you can receive temporary assistant with configuration of anything.
And like you said Trido if you know a users name you can allow either View or Full Access of the unit while out of town.
But you may want to change your Apex to a unique name because were finding that several are have the Name Apex and are having issue staying connect to guess or View connections.
