Many reefers have aptasia in their tanks that grow like dandelions in the lawn. They keep growing and spreading regardless of how many times you treat and kill them. I have a couple in my tank that I can't seem to kill, but the general population seems to be keeping in check with the peppermint shrimp managing the baby ones.

Despite the fact that they are a nuisance, there is some beauty to them. Here is a shot I took with an on-camera flash triggering an off-camera flash. The off-camera flash was held above the tank, pointing towards the aptasia to backlight it.

Funny what you said about lighting, I was talking to a photographer I work with & he was saying the same thing to try, guess I know now it works great but I don't thing my little G5 would come that crisp!
Nice but I don't wish I had them!
