Aquaray Solid State Lighting

Anyone had any experience of these?
There doesn't appear to be any info on the spectrum of light produced. The guy at the local LFS claimed the spectrum was sufficient for reefs, and doesn't degrade as quick as MH or T5/T8

PFO makes them & a few others & other than the price they have good numbers, IMO not quite there yet to equal a MH combo but in time probably will, also prices should be much cheaper.
We had a discussion around here somewhere, try doing a search for LED's.

From reading the link you posted . I would not trust it to grow corals without using some light meter to compare it to metal halides and the sun. it also does not state it's intensity at depths !!! This does not seem to be good for SPS maybe for soft corals ?

I have done this with pfo's solaris and that will work well ! And they do state the intensity comparison at least. Thet cost between one thousand to three thousand five hundred. It pays for itself and lasts 10 years +. But who has that much to put down all at once---only a few do !

There are some in the SEATTLE area that own these solaris and love them !!

this is an older article and also does not take into account the fact that you can change the spectrum of the array at any time !
