does anybody have any ideas for rock pedestal. to keep rock off tank bottom(so sand does not create any land slide)keep flow of water better under rock.

I have taken (1 or 2inch)acrylic rods and cut them into squares and then use #16 if plastic or silicone if glass and make a slide guard or a booster with the little blocks by glueing them to the bottom .
they will be cover bye the sand or rock .

You to do this before water is in the tank.

I have acrylic plates that are drilled out and then plastic rods inserted into the holes. I also drilled my base rocks so that the pegs go into the rocks:

thats just what i was gonna do wanted more comments and feedback

I knew a guy that used PVC. It was mainly for structure purposes but he had also ran a small powerhead into it and also used it for subtle water movement. Either way it worked good in his tank. He painted the PVC black and you could not even see it any more. A little more cost effective over the ACRYLIC rods and sheet. Though either will work.

Just picked up 6' 1/2 acrylic rod 6$ and 3sq' of 1/2 acrylic sheet 35$...good price i went to TAP PLASTICS cut as i waited(plus if you need scraps they charge by the pund way cheaper)

Wrk awesome with the key largo (marco rock) didnt need to drill rock at all sat in place very sturdy (i had 12"deep tank so had to be very stury so there was no avalance)
