ASM G2 a good skimmer?

This may sound weird but I think I have too much flow or air from my sedra 5000 going into my G3. Because when I cut the air intake the bubbles in the neck of the collection cup started to foam better with smaller bubbles. Any thoughts?

will the intake work like that having it pointing down on the bottom of the sump???

As long as the intake is not resting on the floor.

it looks like it is in the pic.. how would you keep it off the floor??

If it is close to blocking the intake, you could twist the pump a little one way or the other.

it wont hit the ground, it just looks too close in that pic.
although it might with the sedra 5000.
also, if you do this, i would have the pump resting up against a wall to take the pressure of the skimmer body
