Like I said, make sure you back up completely before doing an automatic Windows Update.
I didn't. I suspect my newer files are still there but I don't know yet. After my last Windows Update, I get into Windows but have no access to the toolbar, screen icons, etc as they are all gone. All I can see is my desktop wallpaper and my mouse cursor. The mouse cursor moves around but I cannot right-click nor left-click. I can hit [CTRL][ALT][DEL] and get my task manager and that's it.
Luckily, I have 2 other computers so I can at least search the web for how to fix this problem. Unfortunately, it was my main business computer that this happened to.
