Like I said, make sure you back up completely before doing an automatic Windows Update.

I didn't. :( I suspect my newer files are still there but I don't know yet. After my last Windows Update, I get into Windows but have no access to the toolbar, screen icons, etc as they are all gone. All I can see is my desktop wallpaper and my mouse cursor. The mouse cursor moves around but I cannot right-click nor left-click. I can hit [CTRL][ALT][DEL] and get my task manager and that's it.

Luckily, I have 2 other computers so I can at least search the web for how to fix this problem. Unfortunately, it was my main business computer that this happened to.

Yeah, I hate Windows updates. With my two computers, something is all ways updating. Down load the microsoft update and next thing you know, every other piece of software has to get updates too! This sucks!!! My computers have spent more time updating in the last couple months than I have spent using them! I'm just about ready to get an Apple. If there was more software available for Macs I would have bought one just after windows 98 went bye bye.

The brand new Macs can run windows software now. When it comes time to replacing this computer, I just might make the change.

I was always a PC/Windows guy. A year ago I bought a Mac and have to say I love it. Everything 'JUST WORKS'. I have a digital camera that is about 6 years old and under Windows I always had problems with the driver. When I bought the Mac that was the first thing I tried and you know what? It worked and has worked perfectly. I was impressed then and still impressed with the OS.

Anyway that is my Mac plug. :)
