Man I LOVE the wavy sea. Theres no need for you to buy the wavysea plus. The only diffence is it allows for higer flows. Something stupid like 3,000gph instead of 2,000gph. Anywho, Im running around 500gph with mine. I know we had trouble linking up earlier in the week, but if you'd like to come over this weekend and see what it all about, I'd be glad to show ya.
Brett

Hey Brett how do you like your wavy sea? I've heard good things about them and I want to add one to my tank. I did not drill my tank but I plumbed in a refugium using a mj1200 pumping water to the tank and a mj900 from the tank to the refugium. I'm assuming in order to maximize the benefits of the wavy sea I'm going to need a stronger pump in order to push the water out. I think this can be done but, I'd like to know how you hooked yours up and how much water is being pushed out. We have similar setups so I thought I'd ask your thoughts on this.

Thanks!

Looks like Pavona Maldivensis, or something very similar. Interesting how it's plating.

Any closer fts?

Im having some problems with hair algae.... My nitrates are under 5ppm. I tried a seahare, letteus nudi, and neither one were too interested in trying to make a dent in the algae. I have a feeling I am introducing phosphates into the tank by feeding spectrum pellets.

I'll take some pics tonight when Im drunk. I had wanted to add some rock so I did, I also wanted to remove my coral bannded shrimp and put him in a safe house while I treated for redbug. Especially with the newer morph which has become very big!

I stopped in at IKEA last night to look around a bit and stumbled onto an led kit.
36 LEDs for $50
They can light in:

green
dark blue (looks like 460nm actinics) really pulls the metallics out on the corals
purple
light blue (moon lighting)
yellow
white (moon lighting)
red (I had read somewhere that red lighting does not affect sleeping fish, so I can use it to look at some night time polyp extension)

Here's the link:

There are four 10" strips which can be plug together to create a 40" strip or you can connect them with 4" flex extensions, or run all four individually.

They have end caps and also include stainless steel brackets to attach the strips.

This is an excellent deal as most aquarium LED's average around $7-$25 per LED.

I had ordered a SWC160 to join in on the bubble plate craze. After a mesh job from Skimerwhisper its foaming nicely. You could scoop the foam with a spoon! Mark was giving me alot of crap for putting this skimmer on a 30 gallon. They use 2 of these exact pumps to power the skimmer that runs the display and frag system at barrier.

I love overkill! My BM is doing great as well. this looks like its going to kick butt! Post some pix when it starts breaking in.

Yeah its been up and running a week but it was modded yesterday. Another guy here has this skimmer and it took two weeks to get dialed in. Once its dialed in it screams though.
