A Little Overboard!
being in PC repair and networking for the past 12 years I still will not go to mac as much as I sometimes hate PC's. My friends have MAC's and you know they have had a lot of problems as well and the suck part for them is they have to find an apple store to help them out which has proven difficult in some cases. I run a server at home that stores all of my data from all of my laptops and pc's it is configured with a full RAID-5 plus a hot spare so chances of loosing the data is a lot less. I also like some of the online backup programs. As for your data if the drive spins up then it is recoverable you just need the right software
