I have purchased a bunch of brine shimp eggs and food from Northeast Brine Shrimp.

1. Is anybody aware of informative threads on how to brew up a batch? I have manufacturer's instructions, but would be interested in actual hobbyist's methods, etc. I once saw a thread with photos etc, of one aquarist's methods, etc.

2. How do you rear larger shrimp? I have no problems getting brine shimp hatched and in to tank for feeding, but I find them just too small. Wishing I could get them to grow bigger ... but them seem to progressively die off by the hundreds after say 4 days. I've wondered if the increasing salinity as evap occurs in my small tank occurs may be a factor

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions!

That lil' brine shrimp hatching dish is actually amazing!! Someone here in Spokane in our local FW club bought one...told us about it and then I bought one. I was amazed at the successful hatch rate. It goes against everything we've all been taught about hatching brine shrimp and what they need to hatch. This dish uses NO light and NO water motion at all and you get a hatch in half the time as the old 2 liter bottle method. You also get a higher percentage hatch rate. I've hatched brine shrimp for years while breeding FW cichlids. I love this lil' dish.

Yeah, it really is amazing. And they hatch so quickly! It's just so simple and no mess, practically no clean up.

Its even cooler with the decapsulated eggs. I use it as a treat for my fish. Its cool to hatch here and there without any mess or equipment.

Don you have one too!!?? Heck, I didn't think they'd catch on very quickly because when you look at the website, they look useless...lol. I used to decapsulate my own eggs...maybe I oughta start doing it again.

Theyve been around for awhile. I'm way to lazy to decapsulate my own, sort of defeats the prupose of using such a simple device. There is no real food value anyways for my tangs, just some treats.
