What bulb is recomended for a 5 gallon fuge? I wasn't sure what to get at the hardware store so I just grabbed a "daylight" bulb, but thats probably not the right one. I am using one of those "clip on" fixtures.

Peace,
Jesse

I bought one of those spiral fluorescent rated 6500k from home depot... around 7 bucks each. Now they have a higher watt 5500k bulb. Let me see where to get the link...

should look like this.... and it must be blue... other colors are not 6500 k...

Daylight bulbs are good for refugiums if growing a macro in there. Some people have better success with different bulbs so you will have to try a few and see which works best for your application. I used a freshwater coralife pc over my sump/fuge and was happy with it :)

Lights of America @walmart 2700k to 6500k cfl floodlight 26watt par38. You might have to look for par value instead of k value.

I ran the lights of America bulb on my fuge without issue for about 2 years. I am experiementing with a old 250w HQI bulb now. It is over 14 months old now and grows algae like a champ.
