ok so it has been a while since i have posted here ... and a lot has happened in the mean time !
first life .... moved in with the girl friend , bought the tattoo studio and over all have gone just as crazy as the rest of you reefers ! the great thing is said girlfriend also shares the passion for the salt tanks , so here is what this endevor has acomplished .........................................
at the moment there are 5 tanks "in the family "
the 72 bow at the studio < was easier to buy the studio than to move the tank >
the 6 gal fluval sumped
a 20 l holding tank
and the 100 g cube ,
plus a 15 g tall housing gold fish for the time being

lets start with the story of the gold fish tank ,
so after talking to wendee <THATS is she one good a and girlfriend, the>for a while about salt water tanks she stated that at some time she wanted to have seahorses . at wich time i said there is noway i want to attempt to do a small tank with seahorses . the outcome didnot sound prommising

but ... if we plummbed a small tank into a larger system the outcome might fair a little better .
so after some sweet talking on both sides . we decided that it was time to have a saltwater system at her house ! yay ! <CROSSES fingers>
i just happened to have about 75% of a 100 g system just sitting in storage . after a few issues of both of us panicking <NEWER relationship>the tank almost didnt make it over to the house . but it finally got set up and she got the reef bug ! so here are a few pictures

just sitting in the shed , the tank had a closed loop system . i dont like the look of them personaly , so i plugged it

also re worked the sump and replumbed the tank

was going to go all out on the stand but at the time there was a bit of a rush to get the tank up and running and a lack of finances

so a little cleaning and a little paint the old stand got a bit of a facelift and the tank found a new home

had a few members here help out with some things that i was lacking <lighting , return pump, substrate , and rock , >
thanks again guys you know who you are
we are finally getting around to having a beautifull set up that is ever changing

Keep the pics coming Jerry. It's looking pretty nice and yes it does help with the other half is just as hook as you are on this salty liquid drug. You should drop by and check out the 180 now that it's been running for a bit.

lol i have been a little busy , with the revamp on the studio , and every thing else life is bringing my way with buying this damn studio , like state fines of almost 2500$ for a sink that was put in with out a permit ! fml so things are starting to look up , but now clientell is down , welcome to winter ! again fml . and the sale is comming and bdays and holidays , wooo hooo so 15000$ later the studio is getting the final touch up paint , and i am about to start shopping for coral in my 72 that i have been neglecting , but the good thing is things are growing out of control in there ! thanks for the responses it makes me feel like uhhhhh allll warm and fuzzy inside !

I do have a question though , how much live rock in the refuge is to much ?

As long as it isn't trapping detritus I think you are good. Once again a question like that is going to be based off pure preference. Like I know Krish has none. I say whatever works for you and provides room for critters to live.

By the way the tanks look really good and I really like the open space in the 100G! Good work

Very very nice Jerry, tanks are lookin' good and glad things went well on the shop purchase. From personal experience this is not usually the case, will have to get down your way for a visit to check em out. Don't know about paying you for pain but, have not completely ruled out getting a little ink work done.

Cheers, Todd
