can a crab climb an acro?

OK this is starting to get on my nerves.
SOMETHING in my tank is eating the tips of my acros and leaving a nice spiral path from the tip down. Having dinner on the way.

Can a crab climb stalks of acros? There is no fish in my tank that will do this. I do have 3 HUGE emerald crabs.
The reason I ask about a crab is because the rock that my anemone cam on had a cool little crab in it. I left it, it was small and cute.
Does this look like crab damage?

Cant tell much from the pic, but im a believer that if it isnt a good acrocrab, or if it isnt a emerald or other crab with little discs on their claws designed for picking algae, it doesnt belong in my reefs.

I have had crabs climb up and eat towards the tips of acros before.
 
Well if it is a crab its going to die ;) tonight.. for sure, history
stake out with my flashlight all night if I have to.
 
ya I have a red LED flashlight.
