I'm putting together an auto top off system and the solenoid valve I pruchased contains a copper component that the fresh RODI water would pass through. I know copper is bad in salt water tanks, but I was wondering if it's ok in this case because it's just touching fresh water?

Thanks, Sculp

Copper will leach into the freshwater too.
Is it a component that is line before the RO/DI unit? If it is a small piece and the water is passing thru it before the RO/DI unit, the carbon will probably remove all traces of copper, but if it is after the RO/DI unit, it will leach some copper into the tank. I'd play it safe and replace it.
