I have paramid snails and a thread here says to get a lepoard wrass. I have a six line, can I still get a lepoard? If not what else can I get? I have a yellow tang, royal gramma , fire fish, talbots and yellow tail damsels and clown. When I turn the lights off, these snails crawl out of my gravel. Tere are alot of them. every day I clean what ever snails I can reach. I'm thankfull they don't touch my crocea. I'm beginning to believe they are eating my open brain. is this possible?

I have a 50 gal breeder with 2 leopard wrasses and a six line wrasse. The six line wont leave them alone. I will be moving this month and get rid of the six line when I break it down. Leopard Wrasses are way cool

Strange that you have a Sixline with a Royal Gramma. Sixlines typically kill Royal Grammas. You read the "get a leapard wrasse" thing on my thread. Sixlines are also natural predators of pyram snails. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-09/jf/index.php

The sixline was the last one in and everyone gets along very well. I haven't even seen a fish chase another. A couple quick stand offs where the gramma and sixline look at each other and the gramma opens his mouth real wide and the sixline turns sideways and raises is bright orange dorsal fin and they both go thier separate ways. It's really cool to see.

Is there anything else I can do to get rid of the snails? The problem is that they live in the gravel and only come out at night. I've got alot of rock so it's not easy to scoop out the gravel, although if I can't get a good preditor I may have to.

I would just pull them out as you see them. Mine are all over my Astrea snails so I pull them out and give them the once over with a toothbrush. I have other snails and have yet to see them on anything but the Astrea snails.

I purchased a royal gramma and put him in my tank with my sixline. 1 day and the royal gramma was toast. Later I found out it was a no no to put it in with a six line. Then again I had the sixline for a while first. Now I am wrasse-less so I am looking at getting a pair of leapard wrasses.
