So I am using Black Diamond carbon and am changing it every 3 weeks. It smells a little when I remove it from my little sump but after I rinse it in tap water, then RO/DI water it smells really fresh again.

Can I reuse it? If so should I let it dry? or maybe keep it soaking in RO/DI water? Or is it just best to throw it away?

Sorry for the newbie questions. But inquiring minds want to learn.

I wouldnt leave it un touched for three weeks. Try only filling the bag half full then every few days give is a shake a swish it around letting the detritus go. But Id still only go two weeks max.:)

Ok, thanks will do that.

I've got pretty much going bioload wise with the BTA so thanks. I am continuing water changes. Everyone looks happy and healthy but i can just imagine the toxic soup in such a small tank.

Again, thanks
