Clam acclimation

i was wondering what the acclimation procees for clams are? i just picked my first clam a crocea. and was wondering how i should acclimate it?

I dripped mine for an hour then tossed him in..
He seems happy and is open all day..

exposing them to air is fine.

a few minutes won't hurt..
put the water from the container it was in, in a bigger bucket..
Drip acclimated for about an hour....
Then put him in my tank...

i dripped him for lil over an hour. then floated him for another 30minutes adding about half a cup after 20 minutes. He opened right uo and looks great. thanks for the help

Good idea to rotate the clam under water to help remove any air bubbles that may get trapped inside.

i use purple up every once in awhile to help the coraline algae. but my clam decided it didnt like its old spot so it released and fell to the bottom of my tank. here's a pic of her new location

What is purple up, is it safe to use and where do I get it?

What happens if I use it and then stop does the purple go away?

But as far as useing it then stopping no the purple algae will not die off. its a fertilizer that just accelerates its growth. and it doesnt cause bad algae to grow either. it hasnt for me. and i dont use it according to what it recomends either if i did my purple algae would be even better. i use it like once a month or so just kinda as i think of it.

unfortunately i dont remember exactly but id guess a couple months but i never used it often like it said to. so give or take. it is a milky looking liquid that cloads your tank up for a few hours but it doesnt affect anything fish and stuff swim thru it with no problem. i love the stuff
