Clean cut on an 8" pipe?

I have no idea how that works. It is very easy to do it on a table saw tho. You simply have to make a jig to do it with. I will post some pictures later.

Tom,

Please do post pictures. I've been researching how to make a flange and cut a big pipe straight for several days now. Don's posts really inspired me, but I want to know if there are options too.

Ok here it is. You simply set the width, place the material in there with the blade down and turn it on. Then while holding the tube with one hand crank the blade into it with the other hand until it is cutting thru the wall. Then carefully with both hands rotate it toward you until it is cut all the way around and then lower the blade back down. It is important to have a tall accessory fence like the one pictured so that if there is a high spot it will be in contact with the fence the whole way around. Once you cut the one end you can turn it around and clean up the other end. After that you can lay a full size sheet of 60g sandpaper on your saw and duct tape the edges down, and you can clean off the saw marks. This method works like a champ, I have made several hundred cuts doing this on tubing ranging from 2.5" to 10" with the same jig.

Hope this helps.
