After the water change, i forgot to turn the ATO back on and caused the water level in the sump to drop. For 5 hrs or so, the pump was running dry and putting massive micro bubbles into the display tank. Now my tank is very cloudy. I performed 15% water change but no help. Put the carbon reactor back inline, no help.

Do you think it's just a simple bactria bloom due to excessive oxygen in the water?

Your pump get really HOT???? I hope your pump didn't start to melt down. I had a friend that had that happen and it killed his tank. He also had a heater blow up and kill everything so He stopped trying to do a saltwater tank. Not sure about air causing a bacteria bloom. Hope you find the cause, micro bubbles usually go away pretty quick.

Thank you. I blew off the bubble deposits under the rocks and plates.
Did another 15% change.
DT is still the same. Making another 15%.
The pump is still running normal so I thinks its not leaching anything out.

A milky tone to the water usually speak to some kind of a bacterial bloom so you may be right. Some other things I have seen is with a ton air bubbles going off in the tank your kind of turning it into a skimmer, so milky white in a skimmer cup is a sign of organics separated. The only other could be that some of the really fine silt from the sand is in the water column.

If its the organics or the bacterial bloom water changes will deal with that and if it was silt then a low micron filter sock will clear it up.

a uv sterilizer can prevent and help clear up any bacterial blooms u might have.
