Clown question

I have a pair of clownfish in my tank for over a month now. I also have a 14+" rbta. Is there a reason why my clowns wont go into the rbta? Theyll swim up to it and its like theyre waiting for an inventation. Theyll swim under it, over it, beside it, but never in it. Never seen this before. They also stay on the right side of the tank swimming up and down the far side of the overflow. This pair has to be the most boring pair of clowns i have ever had. Any thoughts?

It isn't a guarantee clowns will find an anemone to host them. I had quite a few clowns in my first tank (90 gal) and none of them ever went close to my anemone.

I am confident that as they mature and become more comfortable with their environment they will venture out more. As for as residing in the Anemone, they may never but you can try target feeding the Anemone and see if they will go in for the food then decide it's a nice spot to hang out.

If there are larger more established fish in the tank they may also feel a littl[FONT=arial, sans-serif]e uncomfortable.[/FONT]

Definitely bigger more established fish. 5" sailfin and blue hippo neing the biggest, then the yellow tank a close 3" or 4".

They may indeed start to host at some time but each Anemonefish has only one or two specific species of anemones that they host in the wild. I'm sure this is partly instincual and what is also regionaly available to them. If these Clowns of yours are A. Ocellaris or A. Percula thier preferred choices of Anemone would be Stichodactyla gigantea or S. mertensii for Ocellaris and S. gigantea or Heteractis magnifica for Percula. I have had both Clowns host Heteractis crispa before as well, these are in my opinion some of the most spectacular Carpet/Long Tenticle Anemones color wise.
