Time for a contest!!!!


This contest is for newbies only.

To determine eligibility, please post your name and length of time you have been in the saltwater hobby. The dealine date to enter the contest is Monday, Sept 17th, 9:30pm PST. Contest starts Tuesday, Sept 18th, 10:00am. I will post 2-3 questions per day for 5 consecutive days. So plenty of time to accumulate points.

This contest is all about learning the hobby (along with winning some cool prizes).

Ground Rules:

• For the purposes of this contest, a newbie is defined as 1 year or less experience in the hobby.

• Questions will be posted around 10am PST each morning. You have until 9:30pm PST the same day to submit your
answer. Any answer submitted AFTER 9:30pm PST will not be counted as correct.

• All answers can be found on the Reeffrontiers.com web site.

• Once a question is posted, your answer MUST contain a link on the Reefrontiers.com web site where you found the
answer. Any answer that is NOT from the RF web site will NOT be counted as correct.

• Your answers must submitted to me via a Private Message (PM). Any answer NOT submitted via PM will NOT be counted as correct.

• There is only one correct answer but many links on the RF site may contain the answer.

• Every correct answer is awarded one point, unless otherwise specified.

• This contest will be 5 days long and the top 3 members with the highest score will win a prize of their choice. The
prizes are reef keeping aquarium books for newbies.

Dont know how old you are. But I think 2 1/2 years is to long for a newbee.

No one has set the guide lines for the amount of time.

What do you think Kirk? 6mo. ? 1 year??

humm 2 1/2 years could still be a little wet behind the ears, all depends on the person, are they capable of putting in lots of time, learning, reading being taught by reliable mentors. This will require some honesty from the participants, being Kirk is donating the prize and holding the contest, IMO he should be the one to accept participants!

Lets have fun with this one and no hard feelings please, it is what it is, Kirk is so kind to do this on his time and money!

I agree. This is Kirk's baby. He should by all means make the choices.

For this contest let's define a newbie as 2.5 years or younger.....So yes Mercenary I will count you in.. (I'm easy that way) LOL

I really do consider myself a newbee, just want others to have better chance to win.

just a question if every1 is posting awnsews couldn't 1 be lazy and cheat!!. i think we should pm u the awnsers and at 9pm u post the correct answer and points for the day. im honest but not every1 is.i think we should legitamtely obtain the awnswers.just a thought.ps i really want that book!!as my library is lackking, and mercinary did u ever return my book the captive aquarium?
