Wow I went to a field training officer Leadership seminar today and the guest speaker was Col Danny Mcknight USA Ret. He was the ground forces commander in Somalia...IE; Blackhawk Down. In the movie he was played by Tom Sizemore.

What a powerful speaker. If anyone ever gets a chance to go to one of his engagements do it. Obviously if you know the history of the Oct 3rd 1993 Somalia incident and following political fallout you can probably guess what his opinions and politics are however, he had a lot of excellant things to say about training and leadership. He talked about Somalia too, but I think he went into that more in depth with us as he had all day to talk....and we were the right audiance for it.

I served under him when I was in Somilia. He was quite the Commander. Its just a shame That my Bros Gordon and Schugart got the bad end of the deal. Teams like that are few and far between.

LOL Pictures? Gabby you got to kidding me, I was in constant Combat scenario. What was sad was the movie didnt hit on it to much, The 10th Mountain Div was under United nations rule and would not deploy till they got the word. Allot of the stuff happened there was due lack of support and poor communications between US Army and UN forces. Why I swore I would never wear a baby blue Barrett.
