My Clownfish has what appears to be darkish spot on one of it white stripes. It appears like he has a darkish stain a little bigger than the size of an pencil eraser. At first I thought it was just a shadow but now I'm at a loss for what could explain this. Could this be fungal or some sort of a worm? I would take a photo but my camera doesn't take great closeup shots.

My water parameters are
78.5 degrees
8.24 PH
1.026 Salinity
I always run carbon

The rest of my parameters should be within range of where they are supposed to be. I'll have to test them tomorrow as those test kits are in the same room as my sleeping wife right now.

I currently feed my fish oysters, shrimp, and seaweed which is all blended up together.

I like the foods you're feeding. It seems to be on the 'top end' of what they should be eating. Just vary it as often as practical.

Also, thank you for providing so much information.

If that spot looks like a smudge with indefinite edges, then for Anemonefishes, the most common condition is known as Hyper-Melaninization.

It is caused when the fish has hosted, tries to host, or has rubbed up against a marine lifeform that the fish doesn't have a good defense towards. That is, the fish is getting stung or irritated by rubbing up against another marine lifeform in the aquarium.

You don't list the other lifeforms in the aquarium. However you'll probably find something in there on the live rock, an anemone, a coral, or ? that has irritated the skin of the fish.

Without a photo, that is about all I can offer. You can search the Internet under that word and get some photos to compare to your fish's appearance.

Sorry, I overlooked the other lifeforms. Other than another clownfish and live rock with some algae on it I don't have any other life forms at the moment. I will plan to monitor this in the coming days. This morning I noticed that it has appeared to go away a little bit. Thanks for your help Lee I will google Hyper-Melaninization that you mentioned and see if this is similar to what my clownfish is experiencing.
