Came home 2 days ago to find my snails all lying on their backs with feet half way outta shell. They were all motionless, but reacted to touch. I turned them right, but after few hours they were upside down again in the same position.
Parameters measured at the time:
Sg 1.026
Temp 27 Celcius
Alk 2.5 mEq
Ca 400
Oxygen 6ppm
Nitrate undetectable
nitrate undetectable
pH 8.16
My first concern was my recently (1 month) added Ca reactor, not running off pH controller. Thought it was overdosing Co2, depleting O2, as the fish were visibly more active as well.(swimming breathing faster??) My O2 levels were fine and so was my alk.
I also noticed that my star polyps seemed to have spawned, with red/brown egg like nodules all over them. I did a 100 liter water change (system 700 litres) and ran some airstones into the system for an hour. Today the sanils seem fine, going about their task of searching for algae.

Any help as to what might have caused them to react in this manner would be appreciated.

The rascals were probably gettin' into the seaweed

Welcome to reeffrontiers. I'm sure you'll get a better response than mine soon! good luck
