Hi All!

Just wanted to let you know for those who have followed my new cube tank set up that when my son and I lifted up the cube tank to put on the stand I noticed a bad crack in the upper right hand corner in the back and a chip in the corner on the lower right hand corner of the tank. It is not repairable. Looks like it gotdropped on that side in the back. Had not seen the crack when sitting in box.:(

So for now there will be no tank going up for awhile until I can get the money together for another one. Man it sure looks beautiful with the custom stand under it and the custom canopy on top. Will try to get a pic tomorrow but for now just don't have the heart to want to do it.

Hey worst things happen in life so thankful for my wife and kids and just being here.

Well thanks for reading just hope I didn't let people down who helped me so much in getting this set up together. God bless, Johnny:)

Ouch, sorry to hear that Johnny. Looking forward to seeing it once you get another one made.

Mike I took the top off the box and looked around the top and inside and it looked fine to me. Just did not see the crack in the upper right hand corner and a chip in the lower right hand corner. May have been dropped on that side.

Any way only have myself to blame for not taking it completely out of the box and inspecting it. I just thought since it was wrapped in bubble wrap I wanted to leave it there to prevent scratches on the acrylic.

I will get it replaced but it will take some time but it will happen eventually. Lesson hard learned.

The only thing that really bothers me is letting all those people down who had so much in this coming together.

Funny a calm came over me and realized that people like you guys cannot be replaced but a cracked tank can be.:)

Johnny,
was that tank from IAP? Also, did you have insurance on the shipment?

Erwin

Well Erwin I have had the tank since March 23rd so any liability has been washed out since I have had the tank so long. Just a hard lesson to learned but it will be replaced in time so everything is fine.:)

If it was a pricey enuf tank your homeowners would/should cover it.. just a though..

Thanks everyone for your support. Did not sleep very well last night and have decided to put everything into storage and maybe some time down the road get back into the hobby.

Take care all.

Johnny, I'm sorry to hear about the tank! :(

ok all i think it's time to put our heads together and try and figure something out here. i for one have invested alot of time into this project and as long as theres a breath left in me i'm not lettin johnny quit if i have to buy him another tank myself. ant suggestion would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.[dave]:(

Hey I agree with Dave. It's not time to shelve the project.
MontanaRR, get a pic of the damage. I'm by no means an acrylic man but there must be a way to fix the crack. Even if it's not estetically pleasing to the eye, wouldn't corraline eventually cover? Maybe drill a small hole at each end of crack and fill with acrylic glue? Just a thought. I'm sure there are others with more info about a fix. Hey John (IAP), Zephrant! MontanaRR needs some help.

Johnny,
Man that is a real drag!!!!
Take heart tho, I am gonna hang on to your stylo frags, and by the time you get goin again, I'll have some more for you. Maybe if John from IAP reads this, he might have a suggestion. Hope everything will work out for you.

Hey Johnny, why don't you throw up a picture of it? Maybe we can make some suggestions based on what it looks like.

Hey Johnny,
I sure am sorry about the loss of the tank it makes me sad to think about it. :( I can imagine how you feel. There is no way that I would feel comfortable repairing that tank besides you dont want that kind of gray area when it comes to housing all of you precious corals and critters. If the tank were to fail later down the road that would be a much larger disaster. All the effort that went in to the project by all those involved should not be wasted. If you fellow reefers will pay the shipping I will build Johnny a new tank. The cost to have the tank crated and shipped on a truck is about 140.00. Maybe Mojo or Nikki can take care of getting the funding pool going. The tank will have to be picked up at the terminal so someone will need to go and get it. One other condition, the tank must be inspected when it arrives. I sure can't do this in every case but you know we will always try to help out our customers fellow reefers whenever we can.

:) thanks iapjohn i knew you would think of something and you did my friend you the man. as you know i have invested alot of time and effort into this project also and dont want to see it end now, we've came to far. the stand and canopy i build was delivered to him yesterday and i know shipping frieght is expensive. it weighed in at 255lbs and cost me 223.19 to get it to johnny so here's my contribution, he does'nt have to pay me back. so happy birthday. merry christmas, and happy new year all rolled into one johnny lol. now i'm sure we all here can come up with your shipping cost if nikki or mike will setup a fund raiser for johnny. thanks again john.[dave].

Johnny,
I can go over to Seattle and pick it up and bring it back to Spokane for you. That way it will arrive safely plus no charge for freight. You can pick it up at the store (you need to see the store anyway :) ) or maybe Charlie can take it to you when he comes over.

Regards,
Kevin

Well folks I don't know what to say!

Tears are coming big time for this ole Montana boy. I will try to buy a tank down the road as you guys have done so much. It is not fair to burden you some more.

Here is the thread showing the crack and the set-up. John(IAP) your tank is so beautiful and Wooddood it makes your stand and canopy so much better.

I am humble right now and what a family I have here and on RS.

God Bless You All! I love ya all! Johnny:)
