Here are some pics of the sump I made for my 72 Gal Bowfront reef (well...in process reef anyway). It was pretty easy to make. The hardest part was finding a place to get some scrap glass at a reasonable price (ie...FREE). Best place was Sound Glass in Tacoma on 74th street. Awesome customer friendly service. Tried to pay for it but they wouldn't let me. Said it was going in the garbage anyway. Todd even made a few smaller cuts for me for free. ALL of my glass work will be going there in the future.
Anyway, I just thought someone out there might benefit from my project. Eventually I will add an auto top off unit and maybe a few other items as well but the basic unit was pretty simple to make and cheap also. I'm into this for about $38. $30 of that was for the tank that FINN hooked me up with (Thanks Marty).
I plan on having about 1000 gallons per hour going through this. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them.
I'm going to attempt to post some pics. In retrospect I could have been a LOT neater with the silicone but nobody is going to see it anyway...except for everyone who looks at this thread...
