Finally got this project completed. It is a 2-250 watt Halide setup. Ballast are by ADVANCED. Total cost about $150 Canadian give or take a few buck.

Lights and reflectors. I can see the SPSs & Clams already

where did you find the box, and does it have a specific purpose other than what you used it for?

Steve

The reflectors are the spiderlight version from PFO VHOs attach to them also.
Those boxes are designed for holding bigger and hotter ballast.( Hydroponic stuff} I havent really run them long enough to see how hot they will get. If they get too hot I will go that route. Glad you like it.

PS just how hot will they get anyway.

I'm thinking with thoes two transformers Hot!
The boxes look like they are made for that kind of heat though. I'd look into where you plan on putting it first, depending on location you may/may not need a fan. The only way you will find out is run them.

Hot, I made mine with a electrical box and I have to have the lid off for air to cirulate as I have two 250 watt HQI ballast in mine.

Dont forget to add computer fans inside or outside if you dont have space. Those will get hot... In my case, i cannot touch the housing after several hours of use...

Also, mine crerates a humming sound if its hot.
