I had never heard of them until yesterday when I had finally had time to sit down and look at some threads on RC and went to the one on red bugs. So I got my loupe out [ I'm a clock maker] andpulled some of my acros out and sure enough I have them, and like someone on the thread said they seem to like the blue ones the best. I have had two different blue colored acros die off in the last 6 months and even before reading the thread was wondering why the blue ones were dying? I can see them now on my big green acro too, but it seems to be okay so far, I think because it is so big and the blue ones were frags. I have some purples and other green ones and they have them too. I checked the pinks and the lighter colored ones and couldn't see any.
As I read on their was mention of different kinds maybe some being bad and others not being harmful, well guess I'm not living right because I seem to have the bad ones. I have a ton of flow and my perims are great so I don't agree with AC that it could be a matter of husbandry. I do agree with him that a QT is a very nessassary thing and I had one for my fish when I set up my two tanks years ago, but sold it when I got the fish in my tanks I wanted. I well for sure get one going again before I get anymore SPS.
Now I am not sure what coarse of action to take but I am going to monitor the situation and go from there. Atleast I am quite sure of what is happening and well keep a close eye on it, haven't decided if I well treat or not since I have alot of life on my liverock that I don't wish to kill off.
