EShopps PSK-100H skimmer - do you run the foam on the output or not?

I'm just curious if the people who run this skimmer or something similar to it run the foam filter on the output or not. I just traced down the source of our overflowing skimmer as being this foam being completely plugged up. Rookie mistake really. I just hadn't thought of ever cleaning it. Do most people leave them on and just clean the periodically or do most run them without?

Same thing happened to me so I leave it off now but it's kinda loud.

I run my 75 without the foam, no more over flow prolbem.

Hey Eric, either way as the foam is just its bubble trap. I've left mine on and only clean it about every two months or so, never has overflowed yet...

Yes I have noticed the increased bubbles collecting on everything. Maybe I will just put it on the clean up list and actually maintain it

If bubbles are collecting, tank needs better flow.

I don't doubt that a bit Mike since it's a 65gal tank with virtually no rock in it and only one K1 and 1 old school little powerhead. I will put a couple more powerheads in that I have laying around and get things moving a bit more. This started as a QT in the garage and has turned into a frag grow out tank.
