Favia Corals

Can you grow Favia Corals under compact flourescent lighting? Tank is a bio cube.

Yes. I grew a Favia for 3 years, in a 46, under PC lighting. It was at the bottom of the tank and held it's color very well.

Yes, be careful not to give them to much light. I just upgraded from old 36" VHO's to new 110w 48" VHO's and gave mine quite a severe sunburn. Have added shading but not in time, as there is a little permanent damage to some of the colony. They were beautiful large colonies I've had for more than 2 years.. ouch! My Acros are digging the increased intensity though.
