Favorite DIY project?

Well just to start a thread in here, what are your favorite kind of DIY projects? I personally like working w/ wood. I recently got access to a really nice woodshop at my buddies house, so I am planning on making a nice stand and hood for my new 90 from maple and walnut. As I am sure you can tell I also like working w/ acrylic in just about any type of project. I have yet to try a skimmer, but that may be soon. I don't think that my current skimmer is powerful enough for me new system I am settin up.

Wow, Gordo. The craftsmanship of that is just amazing. I forgot what the topic of the thread was from staring at it, I think everyone else did to as nobody reponded to the topic. You are the man.

My favorite is plumbing, but I can't really muster up much more of a response after seeing that.

Thanks for all the compliments. I estimate I spent about 100 hours on it. The bow front made it a challenge.

Okay! That said enough of this professional grade craftmanship! I feel compelled to dirty the water with my 20 minute DIY lighting mod to open the gate for those of us that dink around, make 20 too many trips to Home Depot because of human error, and learn the hard way more times than not.

I gutted a standard flourecent, pounded out the reflector and rewired two T5's to the switch.

It has to be my fav because it's my only one, though Friday I begin making a counter current skimmer using snailman's guid on reefcentral

most of my DIY work is hit really hard with an ugly stick before it gets finished. BTW-it got even uglier when i added the insulation around the bath!

Haven't had many things work aithout involving force with blunt objects myself I'll leave the remodeling of my house out of it for now

Here is my stand and canopy setup that I built, although it is not my favorite, it is the best work that I have done for my reef tank. The rest just look like a concoction fron hel$.
