greetings all, maybe i am just overly excited to see my mated maroons mate and lay some roe!

My big nasty female maroon keeps dusting the sand in a cave with her tail. Is this a sign? I don't see any eggs and it is a bit off from her RBTA which hosts her. Any ideas? thank you!

i dont know.Mine that i got from trido havent laid any eggs yet but they have been "Dusting The Sand " for a few months

hope you get an asnwers i would like to know to

Trido if you see this did they ever lay eggs for you?

I've had a female Maroon constantly push the sand away from her anemone. There wasn't even a male in the tank, so they weren't laying eggs. Just a "house keeping" behavior. In doing this, she was constantly burying Zoanthids that weren't even very close to her anemone. This is why I recently rehomed her and her anemone....lol. However, when they're ready to spawn, you'll see the same behavior. It's also normal for them to lay the eggs "near" but not directly under their anemone. Although, sometimes they do lay them directly under the anemone.

yes my GBM clown she likes to dust over the area near her area its just a way to keep it clean but she keeps on exposingthe bottom of the tank lol

My maroon would actually push over rocks 1.5X her size because they were too close to her anemone. I think that they just tend to be good housekeepers.

My O.Clown does it all the time too... and no anemone in the tank. Think it's probably a territorial thing. Wish it would stop it though because I can't put a thing on the sand in "it's" corner, or it buries it to death.
