hi what would be a good filter setup for a small 10 gallon tank with live sand some lve rocks and 1 clown fish. he is in a 29 gallon tank now with 2 tangs and i need to liten the load. would a hang on be good. should i put a power head in for movement.

thank you for all the help

You don't really need a filter or a skimmer for a 10g. Just regular water changes would be fine. You do need a powerhead for some intank current though.

10 gallon tank, 1 clownfish, and Live rock....

IMO, I would use 2x Hagen AquaClear 20/MINIs. They are HOB filters. Place some carbon in one of them.

Best,
Ilham

I know that the tangs are to big but when i setup the tank I wanted it all now i know better. my plan to move the clown and see if i can trade back the foxface for something smaller.

You could also use a small under tank power filter like an XP-1. That would help keep the water polished and provide some flow.

I used the tetra whisper mini for my 2.5 gal with great luck... I am in the process of setting up a zoa frag tank with a whisper 60 on a 10 gal. the smaller whispers go right in the tank... the bigger ones hang on the back.
