Most LFS give chaeto away for free. Keep light on it and it will grow. I use a desk lamp I got from Office max in my sump and I have to take out a base ball chuck out a week and feed it to my fish to keep it from over growing in the Fuge.

Thank you for your advice. i will try giving it to the fish once i get more of it or give it to other people :) about the light i got 10000K 9 watt Power Compact fluorescent bulb on the back and want to know do i turn it on the same as the main lights?
thanks in advance!!!

If you're not going to leave the light in your fuge on 24hours you want to have it on opposite cycles as your main display lights. The reason for this is to help with the PH swing when you turn the lights out at night.

All you need is a standard 60 watt light bulb and your plant life will grow crazy.

You need more light down there. You should notice your chateo taking up more room and getting denser in your fuge every three to four days.

Desk lamps are about $10 at office max or office depot.

Or you just have zero phosphates for the plants to use. I'm going to guess it wants more light.

well i have been turning the light on at the same time as the actinics at 10 and then turn it off at around 10 ish 11ish. but now i'll try to do that reverse thing, because they will be getting the light from the main tank during the day because my fuge is in the back like a biocube tank... and then i'll turn the light on for the night....if it doesnt start growing then, then i'll get the other kinda light for it...( my first one that came with the tank burned out "melted" so i had to buy a new one, and thats why i''ve been turning it off at night so it doesnt melt on me again.)
Thanks for your input, really appreciate it

you could make a light barrier with black paper and cardboard or somethin. On some nanos i see them usung the chateo light by scraping off the paint of the back compartment to light it through the glass.

so here are the pictures of the fuge....and the light.....oh and of my new zoas that i got a week ago :) if you know the name  please dont be shy to tell me :D thanks

:confused::confused:trying to understand this but still cant :confused::confused: help???

like tilting the light so it shines through the glass to your macro so the light doesnt show in your display at night. It looks fine though. Maybe lower it closer to the water if you could. I would run the fuge 24-7
